September 28 & 29, 2009
After a direct flight to London from Los Angeles to London, I navigated
my way through the Underground to get to Waterloo to get my train to
Portsmouth. It is really quite amazing at just how easy it is to navigate
the trains in England and made it to Portsmouth exhausted but good.
I checked into my hotel - "The Clarence" which turned out to be a great
boutique hotel. I found it on Tripadvisor.com and couldn't be happier
with the hotel.
A
long shower and short nap remedied my fatigue and headed to the hotel where my brother in
law, my sister (Deb), my niece (Jessie), and nephew (Colin) were staying.
I arrived and we headed out to find something to eat. Ironically,
we were told to go to someplace just behind the hotel, only because of the
freeway, we had a long distance to go under it and then back.
Jessie who is 13 tried to order Cider and then Pimms. The bartender
carded her. Jessie didn't realize they contained alcohol. She is
growing up too fast!
